Question:

I’m kind of confused , I have heard that Satan is  running like blood in our bodies and next to the heart wherever the heart is careless of remembering Allah he will come and give you doubts or suggestions, and some say when we yawn we should cover our mouth and say “A’uthu bi Allahi minal Shaitanil Rajim”, but I thought he was already in our bodies? That is why I am abit confused so please explain this issue.

Lastly, I also want to know: does Satan suggest ideas to our minds or our  hearts? If he is next to the heart, then how come suddenly we get an idea in our mind?

Answer:

Iblis (the head of the Satans) is from among the Jinn. He and his army can affect us, but only by the Leave of God. They can whisper to us, which means that they can lead to sinful ideas forming in our mind. The things that give Satan power over us are: being oblivious of God obeying Satan, even in small things. This gives him power over us when it come to bigger things.

It is recommended to always seek refuge with God from Satan by saying: ‘A’uthu bi Allahi minal Shaitanil Rajim’ (I seek refuge with God from the cast satan). This is one of the best ways of protecting our hearts from the whipserings of Satan.
