If evil is the absence of good, and God does not create evil, then what about the devils?

Answer:

The devils were not created evil. God creates creatures with free will. Free will in itself is something good because it allows a person to ascend to perfection. However, when it is misused and abused it leads to a being choosing the path of misguidance and becoming a devil. Thus God does not create evil, but the creature of God chooses a path of misguidance through its own free will.
