I’m a new Muslim and I used to do cross-stitch as my hobby. Please could you tell me, if I was to complete a cross-stitch pattern I started, of a woman’s head, shoulders, and face, would it be haram? Will I be asked to bring life to it on the Day of Judgement? Should I destroy it?

Answer:

The prohibition in our narrations is against sculpting an image with a human face or other living form. There is no prohibition against cross-stitching such images, as long as it is not used for wrong purposes.
