Is listening to acapella music haram? So if I take a song that has music and strip away the actual musical instruments, is it still haram to listen to? This music I’m asking about has no explicit words whatsoever.

Answer:

If there is no music at all, then the only remaining issue is the lyrics and the singer. A male listener cannot listen to a female singer, and the lyrics should not contain un-Islamic themes.
