Question:

I’m engaged to be married inshAllah. There are a lot of discussions around the location of the wedding since my family lives in one country and his family lives in another country.  Where should the wedding be according to Islam?

Answer:

Obviously there are no Islamic recommendations on the location of a wedding and you and your spouse should discuss and compromise on this issue. However, if you reach an impasse, Islamically a wife should put her husband’s wishes before hers.
