How important is it to attend rallies and protests in solidarity with Palestine? Usually most of the flags and banners in these rallies are related to Palestine. However, does the presence of a wide range of flags and banners including the flags of various countries, flags of some Wahhabi movements and flags of socialist movements make attending these rallies impermissible, even though these flags and banners are in the minority?

Answer:

According to Ayatullah Khamenei and other respected Maraje’ any kind of possible protests against Zionism is an example of ‘honouring the Signs of Allah’. The fact that other groups or parties also participate in that protest can be used to our advantage to make a louder and stronger International voice.

The Imams of Ahlul-Bayt (a.s) never seized opposing Bani-Umayyah just because the Bani-Abbas were also fighting against Bani-Umayyah!

Having said that, we should NOT stand under the wrong flags as our dear Imams never did so.

Moreover, if attending a protest against Israel should be avoided because of the attendance of certain Wahabi groups, not attending the protest should be also avoided as their grand Mufti; Sh. Abdul-Aziz Aalu-Sheikh prohibited attending any protests against Israel!
