Question:
What are the meanings of Islam and Muslim?
Answer:
The words Islam and Muslim come from the root word: ‘aslama’ اسلم which is in its turn from the original root s-l-m س ل م with the verbal noun silm سلم .
Silm is peace and aslama is to surrender in peace.
Therefore, Islam is the religion of surrendering to God to achieve peace in every aspect of life.
A Muslim is a person who submits their soul to God and achieves peace in return.
